TEEN ZONE of St. Lucie County
On your first visit to TEEN ZONE you'll be asked to fill out some paperwork about your health. Once your paperwork is done you'll be given a number.
When your number is called you will go to TRIAGE, where you'll be asked about your health, why you came to TEEN ZONE, and what services you need.
If you want testing for STDs or HIV you'll talk to a DISEASE INTERVENTION SPECIALIST (DIS) who will go over your risks and explain the tests.
Next, you'll have the chance to get tested for pregnancy and/or STDs in the LAB.
If you need birth control you'll go to the NURSE who will talk to you about ways to prevent pregnancy including abstinence.
If you want to start on the pill or depo after learning about how they work, a DOCTOR or NURSE PRACTITIONER will help you decide what is best for you. The NURSE will give you the medicine.
After seeing the medical people, you will talk to a CASE MANAGER who can answer any questions you might still have.
